On September 22, 1969, I was sworn in as a Federal Agent at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) for the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. It seems like only yesterday.
I served that agency and its successor agency, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), for twelve years. I was fortunate to work in undercover and related assignments for three years in California, Nevada and Hawaii. For the next five years I was assigned to the Headquarters of the DEA in Washington, D.C., specifically working in the International Training Division. This assignment enabled me to represent the Department of Justice (DOJ) in over 60 foreign countries. For the next four years I was assigned to the Los Angeles Regional Office where, among other supervisory enforcement duties, I was fortunate to be the supervisor of all activities for the DEA at the Los Angeles International Airport. An on-the-job injury forced that career to end.
My second book, “Seeing Life Through Private Eyes,” published by Rowman & Littlefield, details many cases and secrets from our PI career and provides insights to the reader on how to live safer, smarter and saner. Currently available in hardcover and Kindle, the publisher also made the decision to publish the book in paperback and is now available through preorder. The book will be sent on or about October 15, 2018.
