A hospital in Illinois recently hired the private investigators at Martin Investigative Services to perform a theft investigation involving a fraudulent order for $3 million worth of computers.
We found the money in a bank in Curacao and retrieved the funds and retrieved the money for the client.
A transcript of the video follows:
A few months ago we were hired by a large hospital in the State of Illinois. And they were interested in finding out who was behind their purchase of $3 million in computers.
So we flew, basically, to Illinois, met with the CEO and Chief Financial Officer, and determined that they had made a purchase of computers, but through a company in Curacao.
So we ended up going down to Curacao, Netherlands Antilles, and actually finding the people that were there, and were able to speak with them, and they readily admitted that they had taken the $3 million, and even more amazingly, they had it in a bank there.
And so I called up the CEO, and of course being kind of law enforcement-minded, we wanted to prosecute the people, and did get the law enforcement community to kind of assist. But the CEO said, ‘I want no part of that. Just get me my money and bring it back.’
So, within a very short period of time, in a few days, we were able to get a cashier’s check for $3 million, and we brought that back to Illinois, and we had a very very happy management team at that business.
