For the 4th of July, we followed a number of “patriots” who were more interested in making their own fireworks rather than watching those in the sky.
During the past decade (and for reasons I can’t discern) we’ve seen a steady increase in the number of requests for mates to be followed on the 4th of July . This year we had a total of 9 of these surveillance jobs in the Southern California area, and 2 in San Francisco.
All 11 were caught.
The common theme of all these rendezvous seems to culminate in the watching of a fireworks show somewhere. Two of our surveillance investigators actually followed their subject to the same location in Laguna Beach. Both subjects and their friends for the evening ended up only 30 feet from each other.
One of the couples began the evening on top of the blankets which were ultimately made into a makeshift bed. Video of their fireworks left little to our client’s imagination.
The other couple actually brought a small tent which was erected on the sand. They must have thought they had gotten a room as the video sound that was picked up was undeniable.
If you’ve ever wondered about how these cases work, let me give you the stats:
For the past 40 years, Valentine’s Day has remained our busiest day for marital surveillance jobs. Given the necessity to be with someone who is not your spouse on Valentine’s Day, this makes catching the cheater fairly straightforward. Many subjects are wise to this tactic and are either choosing not to “hook-up” or, if they do, they are becoming much more discreet and covert.
Super Bowl Sunday is the second busiest martial surveillance day. Most people never think of the Super Bowl. In fact, Valentine’s Day surveillance numbers have actually gone down during the past five years while the Super Bowl weekend surveillances have steadily risen in numbers.
80% of our clients are women. We catch 97% of the people that we follow.
For a woman, the decision what to do with the scoundrel is often torn into three areas. About a third want to get divorced, a third want to proceed to counseling while the remaining third has no idea what to do.
For men, when we catch their spouse, they file for divorce 99.9% of the time. Men seemingly do not have that DNA gene of forgiveness nor can they get past that their wife or girlfriend is now considered “soiled linen”.
If you find yourself in the situation of choosing a private investigator to conduct surveillance on your partner, be very careful in who you select. This is serious business, given that you will make life-changing decisions based on the evidence he or she obtains. In this case, read Chapter 16, Steps to Hiring a Private Investigator.
Most private investigators will never discuss fees. We are very transparent in that regard and make no apology for setting the rates in the Southern California area and the high standards that clients deserve. We charge $150.00/hour, $0.95/mile and we work in four-hour minimums. You can call our toll-free number below where a consultation on these issue is gladly offered at no cost to you.
