This month I signed a contract with Rowman & Littlefield to write a brand-new private investigation book, tentatively titled, The Private Investigator’s Guide To Living Safer, Smarter and Saner.
You might ask, why is there a need for another book from me?
Many years ago I wrote a book called If You Only Knew. That book highlights a dozen major life issues that frequently confront my clients. I wanted to empower readers by giving them straightforward advice from a successful private investigator and pointing them toward the resources and information they needed. I was surprised and gratified at the warm reception that book received upon its release, and I was even more thankful by its continuing popularity as the years passed.
In 2008 I updated the book and made the decision to publish it for free online, at InvestigatorConfidential.com.
I always tell people the old adage, “It’s better to know me and not need me, than to need me and not know me.” In the new book, you will get to know more about me. I plan to share a few stories from my DEA days and take readers behind the scenes of a few of my more memorable cases. “Me” means not just myself, but some of the other absolute top experts in the business from my days as a Federal agent and as the owner of Martin Investigative Services. I am going to take the best of all our combined wisdom and knowledge and tell you how to use this information to help and protect yourself in these rapidly-changing and complicated times.
While I am proud of the work I have done and the company I have built, I want to stress that my new book is about far more than “me”. After 35 years in the trenches, I am more convinced than ever that a top-notch investigator can be your best friend in all kinds of life situations. A good private investigator can understand and fix problems in a way that doesn’t waste time and energy, getting the job done efficiently so you can regain peace of mind and move on with your life.
If you’ve hit a stumbling block or need some assistance, call my office. If we can’t help in your local area, I will refer you to some of the best investigators in the country. These recommendations are not made in exchange for any sort of referral fee. I do this because I know that good private investigators change lives.
In a nutshell, that is what I want to do in my new book: change readers’ lives for the better.
The Private Investigator’s Guide To Living Safer, Smarter and Saner is tentatively scheduled for release in Spring/Summer 2017, just over a year from now. I will post on its progress as I work on the manuscript and welcome suggestions for anything you’d like to see covered.
