A successful businessman had the gut feeling that his business partner’s death was no accident, and hired us to do a murder investigation, as the local police had not performed any sort of investigation.
As our investigators did their work, it quickly became apparent that the supposed accidental death was actually a murder.
A transcript of the video follows:
About 9 months ago, a client in the state of Texas hired us to do an investigation of his business partner, who had been shot “accidentally” by his wife.
The wife claimed that it was an accidental shooting that happened at 2 o’clock in the morning after both parties had been drinking. She stated she asked the husband how to use the gun, and it accidentally discharged.
The business partner felt that it was definitely a murder – that she did it so that she did not have to share in their upcoming divorce.
The problem that we had is the local law enforcement community that responded to the murder unfortunately just kind of whitewashed it and believed the woman, and she was never even arrested.
We then sent a couple of our people to Texas, where we did an investigation, we did an analysis of all the evidence that was at the police department, and it was very, very simple to show a grand jury that this woman should be indicted. She was subsequently indicted, and she was going to go to trial, and on the evening before the trial, she decided that she would plead guilty to a second degree murder charge, and she was given 15 years to life in prison.
